These cards are for 'Step 2' - Let's play - card matching. There is one card for each event. Please use with Japanese Festival Flashcards.

How to play:

1. The purpose of this activity is to match the festival and the activity you can see (on the card).

2. Students should make groups of 4.  Students should spread the cards on the table first so they can check they know how to read them. Then turn the cards face down.

3. The teacher should assign each festival from the previous 'Let's listen' activity a number from 2-12. Students will use 2 dice or a dice app (https://flipsimu.com/dice-roller/).

4. Students will take turns rolling the dice. Then say 'We have ______' for the matching number. The student then needs to flip over one of the cards and say 'You can see _______.' If the card matches the event, they can keep it. If it doesn't they should return it.

5. Then the next students takes their turn.
