Activity 1:
How to use:
1. Students choose 3 items from the menu, 1 from main, 1 from dessert, 1 from drink.
2. Make a pair and play janken. Winner asks 'What would you like?' Partner replies 'I'd like (pizza), (a slice of cake) and (cola).' Winner writes the information their worksheet. Change roles.
Activity 2 (uses the cards)
How to play:
1. Give 1 card to each student.
2. Students make a pair and play janken. Winner is the customer, and starts the conversation from 'Excuse me'. The loser is the waiter.
3. After partner asks 'What would you like?' The winner should look at the 'customer' part of their card. The card will say either 'What do you recommend?' or 'I'd like today's special.'
4. The partner should then respond with the next appropriate response.
5. When asked either 'Does it have eggs in it?' or 'Does it have mustard in it?' refer to the card. The partner looks at the waiter part of the card. If there is a picture of eggs or mustard, then that means those are in the food. So they should reply 'Yes, it does.'
6. If there is no egg or mustard picture, then those are not in the food. They should reply 'No, it doesn't.'
7. Continue the conversation until the end. The student playing as the waiter writes the name of the customer in the square at the bottom of the conversation. Then change roles.
