Contains 1 worksheet and 40 activity cards and 2 liar cards.
The goal of the activity is for students to find the classmate who is lying (has the liar card).
How to play:
1. Give students 1 card each. For the first time only use 1 liar card. Students should memorise their card. The person with the liar card must think of their own sentence to say.
2. Choose a time to use for the question, for example 8:00pm.
3. Students make a pair and play janken. Winner asks 'What were you doing at (8:00pm)?' Their partner says their answer, changing the sentence to use 'was ~ing'. For example, 'I was eating dinner then.'
4. Students should take notes of their classmate's answers for each round.
5. When the time is finished, students should write who they think is the liar.
6. Ask students who they think it is, and reveal who the liar was.
7. For Round 2 and 3, change cards and add the extra liar card. You don't have to say that there are 2 liars.
